The Creator made the Jews worse than Christians, although they did not attribute a son to the Almighty and did not say: “He is one of the Trinity,” but they (the Jews) did not recognize Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as a prophet, although they knew for sure that he is a real prophet because Allah Almighty says (meaning): “Those to whom We gave the Scripture (i.e. the Jews) know it as they know their sons.”(Quran, 2:146).
In another verse, the Almighty mentions the non-recognition of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) by the Jews as a prophet (meaning): “When the Prophet came to them [the Jews], whose coming they knew, they did not believe him. The curse of Allah is upon the disbelievers!”(Quran, 2:89).
In another verse, the Almighty says (meaning): “Will you command mercy upon people and forget yourselves?”(Quran, 2:44).

We mean by scientists committed to this world those “scientists” whose goal from acquiring knowledge is to enjoy the benefits of earthly life, to achieve power and a high position in the eyes of the people of this world.
On this occasion, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The one who will be most punished on the Day of Judgment is the scholar whose knowledge Allah has rendered useless to him.”.
“There are two types of knowledge: knowledge in the tongue, and this will become an argument of Allah Almighty against His creatures (people), and knowledge in the heart, and this is useful knowledge.”.
“Sit down only with such a scientist who calls you to move from one five things to another five: from doubt - to reliable knowledge, from hypocrisy - to sincerity, from worldly desires - to abstinence, from arrogance - to humility, and from hostility - to benevolence".
“Closer to the end of the world, those who devoted themselves to the worship of God will be ignorant, and the learned scholars will be wicked.”.

‘Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon him) said: “Wicked scholars are like a large stone lying in a river bed; it does not become saturated with water, but does not allow the water to reach the arable land. O Daoud, do not ask Me about a scientist who is intoxicated by worldly life and who turns you away from the path of My love; people like him are robbers who block the path of My servants. O Daoud, if you see someone striving towards Me, be his servant; O Daud, the one who returns to Me the one who left Me, I consider outstanding and knowledgeable, and the one whom I consider outstanding and knowledgeable, I will never subject to hellish punishment.”.
Hasan ibn Abu Talib said: “The punishment for scholars is the death of the heart. And the death of the heart is the search for the blessings of this world with the help of deeds intended for the search for blessings in the next world (al-akhira).”

Your palaces are worthy of Byzantine kings, your houses are like those of the Khosrows (ancient Persian kings), your robes are worthy of Ibn Tahir, your shoes are like those of Jalut (Goliath), your mounts are richly decorated like those of Karun, your vessels are luxurious like those of the pharaohs, and your actions are like those of the people of Jahiliya (pre-Islamic era), and the paths you follow are devilish! Abu ad-Darda', may the Almighty be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah said through revelation to one of His prophets: “Say to those who study the law (fiqh) not for the sake of faith and study not for actions that are in accordance with it, and who seek only the blessings of this world with the help of deeds intended for life future, those who put on sheep's skins in front of people (put on the clothes of those renounced from the world), but they have the hearts of wolves, those whose lips are sweeter than honey, and their hearts are bitter than aloes - that they are trying to deceive Me and they treat Me with disdain, but I will send them such a temptation that even the most imperturbable and meek will fall into confusion.”.
Al-Auza'i, may the Almighty have mercy on him, said: “The graves complained about the foul smell of the corpses of the infidels, and Allah inspired them: “The bellies of the wicked scholars are even more fetid compared to what is in you.”.
Ad-Dahhak reported from the words of Ibn ‘Abbas, may the Almighty be pleased with both of them, the following: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The scholars of this (Muslim) community are of two types. The Almighty gave knowledge to one of them, and he generously distributed it to people. He was not greedy and did not sell knowledge by setting a price for it. This scholar is blessed by the birds of the air, sea and earth animals, guardian angels (who record human affairs), and on the Day of Judgment he will approach Allah as a noble leader (sayyid), in the company of the messengers of God. The Almighty also granted another of them knowledge in this world, and he stinted on it for the servants of God. He was seized by self-interest, and he sold knowledge, setting a price for it. Then he will be tortured until the account of all people is completed."
Even more painful than this is what is told in the legend: “A certain man was in the service of the prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and for some time began to say: “Musa, the prophet of the Almighty, told me ..., Musa, who spoke with the Almighty, told me (Kalimullah) …” until he became rich and his property increased. And then Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) lost sight of him. He began to ask about him, but never heard any news, until one day a certain man came to him, leading a pig on a black rope thrown around its neck. Musa (peace be upon him) asked him: “Do you know so-and-so?” He replied: “Yes. He’s this pig.” Then Musa said: “O Lord, I ask You to return him to his former state so that I can ask him why this misfortune befell him?” And the Almighty told him through revelation: “Even if you called to Me through what Adam and others called to Me, I would not answer you in this. However, I will tell you why I did this to him: because he sought the blessings of this worldly life through acts of faith.”
Fuzail ibn ‘Iyad, may the Almighty have mercy on him, said: “I learned that the Day of Judgment will begin with the trial of the wicked scholars even earlier than with the trial of those who worshiped idols.”
Abu ad-Darda', may Allah be pleased with him, said: “Woe to the one who does not know, but seven times woe to the one who knows, but does not do good according to knowledge.”
Al-Sha'bi said: “On the Day of Judgment, the people from among the inhabitants of Paradise will turn their gaze to the people from among the inhabitants of Hell and ask them: “What plunged you into the fire of hell, while, truly, Allah raised us to Paradise thanks to your upbringing and enlightenment? The inhabitants of Hell will answer: “Truly, we commanded to do good, but we ourselves did not do it; We forbade doing evil, but we ourselves did it.”
Hatim al-Assam, may the Almighty have mercy on him, said: “There will be no greater grief on the Day of Judgment than that of a man who taught people knowledge, and they acted according to it, but he himself did not act in accordance with his knowledge. And they were saved by learning from him, but he found destruction.”
Malik ibn Dinar said: “Verily, the instruction of a scientist who does not act according to his knowledge slips from the hearts of people just as raindrops slide from stones.”
Ibn al-Sammak, may the Almighty have mercy on him, said: “How many of those who remind of Allah have forgotten about Him! How many are there who frighten Him with His wrath, but are not afraid of Him! How many are there who long to get closer to Him, but are far from Him! How many are there who call to Him and who flee from Him! And how many of those who read and know the Book of Allah are those who do not adhere to His signs (verses)!”
