Tarot layouts and their interpretation. Teresa Michelson's layout

Station layout for two

This alignment also helps to clarify the causes of conflict or misunderstanding between partners. Usually one person lays it out. To do this, seven cards are taken and laid out as follows:

Interpretation:

1: Significator describing the situation in which the main motive is located due to which misunderstandings occur.

The left column here (cards 7, 6, 5) denotes a woman, the right (cards 2, 3, 4) a man.

7 and 2: top cards, corresponding to consciousness as a whole or that level at which partners are trying to comprehend what is happening to them. They show what each of them thinks about their union with their partner.

6 and 3: middle cards, indicating the emotional level of the relationship. They show what each partner feels, what he hopes or fears 5 and 4: the bottom cards showing the external side of the behavior of each of the partners, that is, how he looks in reality, regardless of what he himself thinks about it (top level, cards 7 and 2) or feels it as emotional reactions (middle level, cards 6 and 3). Here you can find interesting tips and tricks on how to behave better so that the form matches the content.

The interpretation of figured cards here also requires a slightly different approach.

Kings and Queens in any case mean specific men and women.

If one of the columns (7, 6, 5 or 2, 3, 4) contains a card whose gender is opposite to the gender of the “hero” in this column, then this means that the “hero” is closely connected in this area with another person. The “same-sex” card is less significant and rather indicates concern that the partner will not become interested in another person of the opposite sex. This can make a big difference if such a card is in the upper or mid-tier. At the lower level, it only shows us how other people perceive this partner. In principle, “same-sex” cards at the upper and middle levels can also indicate this. Once in the position of the significator (1), a king or queen can mean that a person has quite consciously entered into this union with a partner and intends to maintain it - or they do not mean anything special, and I myself don’t know why they got there.

Knights characterize the mood of a given person and are interpreted according to their texts.

Jacks mean some impulses from the outside, but their information is also not always unambiguous. They can indicate what one partner wants from the other (top level), what he hopes for (middle level), or how and where he compensates for what he lacks in a given union.

This especially applies to jacks in lower level positions.

As a significator (position 1), jack means that the union of these partners receives a certain impulse from the outside, the content of which corresponds to the meaning of the element (suit) of jack. This impulse is usually positive.

Secret of the Priestess layout

The most interesting thing in this layout is the last card, revealed only at the end: it contains the “secret”. By looking at the picture of the card, you will understand which elements each card corresponds to.

Select nine cards from the deck, place eight of them face up, and leave the ninth face down:

The positions have the following meaning:

1+2: The cross on the chest of the Priestess reveals the main meaning of the question, showing its two main driving forces, which can support or weaken one another.

4+3+5: Cards corresponding to the three phases of the Moon in the Priestess’s crown: these are the forces influencing the situation:

3: the full Moon symbolizes the main force operating at the present time;

4: the waxing Moon shows a force whose influence is increasing;

5: The waning Moon shows strength whose confluence is diminishing.

6: that which is in darkness, that is, something that exists but is not conscious (although we may be aware of it and even afraid of it);

7: that which is in the light, that is, something that not only exists, but is also known to us (or desired by us);

8: where this path leads us, that is, the near future.

The ninth card, representing the book of Secret Knowledge, which the Priestess holds on her lap, initially remains closed.

It is opened only after all other cards have been interpreted. If this is one of the Major Arcana, then it means that the Priestess has revealed her secret to us, and this card will show us the background and true reasons for the situation that interests us. If it turns out to be one of the Minor Arcana, it means that this time the Priestess refused to reveal her secret, and we put this card back face down. In this latter case, the ninth card is not interpreted. The remaining cards are interpreted as usual.

============================

The layout, which can be carried out on the Major Arcana, is called “Gypsy” in the literature. This layout is quite simple and in its specifics is very similar to the layouts that gypsies use, however, they use an ordinary deck of cards. You can use either a full Tarot deck, or only the Minor Arcana, or only the Major Arcana. Cards are laid out from top to bottom and left to right.

Lay it out like this:

1. Your “I”.

2. What (or who) loves you.

3. What (or who) is ruining you.

4. What (or who) teaches you.

5. What (or who) torments you (in the sense of torments and worries).

6. What awaits you.

7. What won't go away. This Arcanum describes circumstances (or a person) that will remain in the life of the Questioner for a long time.

Let's tell fortunes to one singer, the most popularly loved one. If you think that several singers deserve this title, you can safely attribute this alignment to any of them, because they really have a lot in common.

So, the cards fell out: 1 - High Priest, 2 - Priestess, 3 - World, 4 - Strength, 5 - Wheel of Fortune, 6 - Magician and 7 - Tower.

The high priest in the position of personality (1) means that our singer feels like the head, mentor and benefactor not only of her family, team, clan, but also of her listeners and spectators: oddly enough, women still love her more than men , since in position 2 we have the Priestess. The priestess here, however, also points to subtle intuition and feminine charm.

But what “ruins” it, that is, has a bad effect on well-being and mood, is the World card in position 3. The card itself is excellent, but the position let us down: success, yes, and everything that goes with it is also there, but : “Oh my God, how tired I am!” If it were up to her, she would never go on stage again.

What helps her hold on? Strength card in position 4: a person is extraordinary, strong, aware of his charm and knows how to use it. And - a sense of responsibility to “our own people” (both household members and spectators).

“What’s tormenting you?” (position 5). Wheel of Fortune: uncertainty about the future, that is, the constant need to “spin”, negotiate new concerts, new tours, and this is when you just want to relax somewhere in the forest or by the sea and not even listen to the radio.

“What awaits you,” that is, a forecast for the future (6): A magician, a symbol of a person who not only knows a lot, but also knows that he always has a choice. Perhaps it is precisely this consciousness of internal freedom of choice (“I can always leave”) that helps the singer cope with difficulties (Tower, position 7), of which there have been and will be many: every now and then something “collapses”, “collapses”, and only the second meaning of the Tower card, constant renewal, allows it to constantly move forward, stepping over the rubble, towards the future. When such a character trait is considered unchangeable (the “what will not go away” attitude), it helps a lot in life.

======================

Layout "Celtic cross"- the most famous technique of fortune telling using Tarot cards since ancient times. It belongs to the category of complex systems and is recommended for people with experience in fortune telling. There are many layouts based on the principle of the Celtic cross; this is just one of its types. It is used when one wants to know something about an unknown or distant person, as well as for a general reading of a situation. It breaks down as follows:

  • Card 1 - This position reveals the basis, the basis of the problem that has arisen.
  • Card 2 - The card in this position indicates the force that is driving active change. Its horizontal position symbolically emphasizes that it “crosses over” the issue and gives it alternative knowledge and development.
  • Card 3 - Thoughts, plans, hopes. What does a person think about this issue? Negative cards in this position can indicate serious concerns, fears, and a lack of clear plans. Also, the highest that a questioner can achieve.
  • Card 4 - Feelings. The card in this position makes it possible to study the sensations and emotional state of the questioner. With favorable cards - something you can rely on, a path, a credo, traditions. If unfavorable - negative attitudes, stereotypes, complexes.
  • Map 5 - Shows motivations for actions and antecedent events. Background of the issue, recent events.
  • Map 6 - Near future. Based on this map, one can draw a conclusion about the most immediate development of the issue being studied. Events that are about to happen in the near future are revealed here.
  • Card 7 - Here you can study the style of behavior of the questioner, his sense of self during the development of this issue. The card in this position reveals what the development of the situation will bring directly to the questioner. This card can also indicate the questioner’s reluctance towards fortune telling.
  • Map 8 - Environment. The immediate space, the environment where the problem is solved. Condition of partners and persons involved in the issue.
  • Card 9 - Unexpected influences. A card in this position provides an opportunity to study forces that may unexpectedly intervene in the course of a case. Depending on the meaning of the cards, these forces can provide support or hinder, create obstacles. This card also symbolizes hope.
  • Card 10 - Outcome, outcome, final result, ending. Long-term perspective of the development of an issue or problem. Future. When interpreting this card, everything that was learned from previous cards is brought together.

This alignment is best done on the Major Arcana.

Suppose we are interested in the well-being of the president of a distant country. How does he, poor man, live there? Moreover, the public is threatening to initiate a lawsuit against him. The following cards came out:

1 - Sun,

3 - Priestess,

5 - Hermit,

6 - Justice,

7 - Death,

9 - Lovers,

10 - Strength.

Consciousness and subconsciousness (1 and 2) are considered together, because they are interconnected; well, our president’s mood is not bad (Sun), he is quite confident in himself, and subconsciously he is in a fighting mood (Mage), ready to fight and not give up.

The main “driving forces” of the soul (3 and 4) are the Priestess, in this case, obviously as a symbol of a woman helping him in difficult times (maybe it’s his wife, maybe not), and the Fool, here as a symbol faith in God (“our cause is just, we will win”).

In the position of “past” (5) we have the Hermit, a symbol of loneliness - which means that after all, it was not his wife who helped him regain his strength, and even on the political front he felt lonely. But in the “future” (6) - Justice, which means, on the one hand, the restoration of justice, that is, everyone will get what they deserve, on the other hand, a trial in the literal sense. Looking at the last card - “How will it end?” (10), we can immediately say that the president will win his trial (the Power card is there).

His attitude towards himself right now is just not very good (the Death card is in position 7), and he, of course, is ready to reconsider a lot in his behavior. The attitude towards others is no better: The court in this position (8) speaks of big changes in the list of friends and enemies, and in addition, it again reminds us of the trial, where it will certainly become clear who is a friend and who is an enemy.

Lovers in position 8 (“Hopes and Fears”) speak of a firm belief in love as the greatest of earthly blessings (what a presidency!) - and fears about betrayal, for Lovers also have such a meaning.

Well, we already know that everything will end well, because in position 10 there is a wonderful Strength card: no, you can’t assemble this president just like that.

(Source - E. Kolesov “The ABC of Tarot”)

Just like the interpretation of Tarot cards, the meanings of positions in layouts, and the layouts themselves, may differ among different authors.
For example, Banzhaf’s book also describes the Celtic Cross. Well, if you combine their knowledge together, you can learn and understand much more.

Below is a description of the Celtic Cross according to Banzhaf.

The Celtic cross is the most famous and probably the most ancient alignment. It is universal, that is, it is suitable for answering almost any questions. It shows the trends in the development of the situation, helps to find out the reasons that caused it, and describes the state in which the questioner is, his internal mood. When you are not entirely sure which layout is best to choose to answer your question, you can safely use the Celtic Cross. To interpret this layout, it is desirable to have a more or less deep familiarity with the meanings of the cards, however, if something is not clear to you, do not despair: just read again what is said about the cards you have been dealt.

Having formulated your question, take ten cards from the deck and place them in the following positions:

When laying out cards, you can say the names of the positions out loud:

1.Here's the thing,

2. and here is the key to it,

3.that's what's at the top,

4.and here’s what’s below,

5.what happened

6.what will happen,

7. for yourself (that is, for the person asking),

8.for others,

9.hopes and fears,

10.how it will end.

Or, to put it another way:

1. the meaning of the problem,

2. surrounding circumstances,

3.what we think about

4.what we feel

5.the reason for the situation,

6. the trend of its development,

7.the point of view of the questioner,

8.other people's point of view,

9.what the questioner expects or fears,

10.prospects and results.

The meaning of the alignment positions is as follows:

1. Characteristics of the situation at the moment.

2. An impulse from the outside, which can help find a way out of the situation or, conversely, make it difficult.

These two cards, in fact, reveal the essence of the problem itself, that is, they actually offer an answer to the question asked. The next three cards describe the circumstances surrounding this situation:

3. Level of consciousness. What the questioner already knows (understands), or what he strives for. 4.Level of the unconscious. This is the basis of everything that happens, its foundation, the role of which, unfortunately, is too often underestimated. Meanwhile, this card is often even more important than the card in position 3. A positive, stable card in position 4 means that the person has enough strength, patience and perseverance to cope with difficulties. But the card is negative, unstable (for example, any card of Swords with the exception of Ace, Six, King and Queen), clearly indicates the weakness of the foundation and makes the meaning of the entire layout rather unfavorable, even if there are positive cards in other positions.

5. This card describes the recent past, that is, as a rule, it reveals the reasons for the occurrence of a given situation.

6. The first card of the “future”: it shows what awaits the questioner in the very near future.

7. This card represents the questioner, his attitude towards the situation (that is, cards 1 and 2) and/or his mood in connection with it.

8. External circumstances. This card can indicate the place or area in which this particular situation is played out, or those people on whom its outcome depends.

9. Hopes and fears. The role of this card is also often underestimated, because it does not contain a forecast for further developments. Meanwhile, it can provide very valuable information, especially when we are making fortunes about an absent person or about a person whom we do not know at all, or when the questioner has not said his question out loud. It shows what a person hopes for and what he fears.

10. The second card of the “future”, describing the distant future, and sometimes indicating the moment when the situation will reach its climax.

Thus, we read the “pure forecast” in positions 6 and 10. All other cards describe only certain details, the “background” against which the situation we are interested in plays out.

In what order is it better to interpret the cards?

Starting from position 5 (the past, the reasons for the situation), we will then move on to position 9 (hopes and fears). Thus, we will immediately get a general idea of both the situation itself (position 5) and the questioner (position 9). Next, we look at positions 1 and 2 to understand what exactly worries the questioner, and then we check that he understands (position 3 ), and what he only intuitively guesses about (position 4). After this, we find out how the questioner feels about this situation (position 7), what external factors or other people play a role in it (position 8), and only then move on to forecasts in positions 6 and 10. The name of this layout goes back to its ancient form, when only cards 1 to 6 were laid out, with the four outer cards placed perpendicular to the “rungs” of the cross. This is how the “Celtic cross” turned out.

To create a schedule.

Solar or zodiac circle

This layout is based on the 12 houses of the horoscope or zodiac signs and gives an idea of all aspects of our life at the moment and for a certain period of time (usually a year, a month, six months). It is often used on New Year's Eve (to see how the next year will turn out), or on a birthday (for the same purpose).

Compilation algorithm:

Place a candle in the center of the tablecloth. We lay out the cards in a circle counterclockwise.
1. Divide the deck into major and minor arcana and shuffle each pile separately.
2. First, the client chooses the “card of the year” and we put it in the center. This is the Major Arcana. From the pile containing the Major Arcana, he takes out one card and places it face down.
3. From the pile where the minor arcana are, the client pulls out 2 cards of the minor arcana - these cards indicate the background situations of the year.
4. These three cards are placed in the center of the circle and symbolize the main theme of the year for the client and its background situations.

And they saw [the place of] the God of Israel; and under His feet there is something like work made of pure sapphire and, like the sky itself, clear. "(Ex. 24, 10). Another version claims that the sefirot is from the word sipur (Hebrew סיפור.) that is, a story through which the essence of God is explained. (Psalm 18.2). Starry sky

I have been using this layout for a long time; initially I laid it out on simple cards. When I started studying tarot cards, I tried to lay out this layout on them. Everything is quite simple and clear, where there is the past, present and future. I use it for relationships. When doing fortune telling, you need to choose a zero card, it will mean the person for whom or to whom the alignment is being made. It can be interpreted as some kind of quality in character, or it can be left alone, here at will. We turn over cards 1,2,3,4 only at the end, when the entire layout has been interpreted.

Description

Teresa Mikhelson's "Novel on the Internet" layout

A popular topic now is online dating, especially in this vein - is it worth dating a person with whom you have already started an online relationship? This layout can be used for such cases.

Description
1. The impression your interlocutor has of you after communicating on the Internet.
2. Your impression of the interlocutor.
3. The dynamics of your relationships on the Internet.
4. What doesn't he or she know about you? The meaning of the myth reproduced in this scenario is this: on her way into the dark depths, Inanna must leave, discard much of what she previously thought was important and valuable. To meet her shadow, she must come to it completely naked (unprotected) and humble. And this meeting will mean her death. She must free herself from her old self. After this, she, with the help of her faithful ally, will return to life and re-enter the world of light as the new Inanna. Liberation from previous ideas about oneself, from one’s shadow means renewal, integrity and healing. But to do this, she still must make a (thankful) sacrifice in the upper world, parting (at least temporarily) with something important.

Against this background, the cards are interpreted as follows:
1 - Inanna, Queen of Heaven. The light (or supposedly light) side of the personality, which can only be released or restored by facing one's dark side (X) and accepting it.
2 - Neti, the main guard. How you will be greeted at the gates of the Underworld.
3-9 - The seven gates of the Underworld, at which Inanna leaves her seven ornaments or outfits. A list of them is also given in the myth (what do we need to say goodbye to in our Ego in order to allow the integration of the suppressed side of the psyche?)
Shugurra, or royal crown.
Turquoise measuring ruler and measuring rope.
Azure necklace.
A decoration (as they would say today, a necklace) made of Numuz stone on the chest.
Golden wrists.
A sign (brooch) with the inscription: “Come to me, man, come to me.”
Queen's robe.
Values, patterns of behavior, habits, desires, ideas, etc. that need to be abandoned.
X - Ereshkigal, queen of the underworld. The shadow side that needs to be worked out, the “dark sister”, the black gold that needs to be brought to the surface.
II - Ninshubur, vizier of Inanna. Help, your ally in the Underworld.
XII - Live food. The first resurrection power.
XIII - Living Water. Second resurrection power.
XIV - New personality.
15 - Sacrifice. Something that a person must give up for now. Dumuzi is the deity of spring, the god of the calendar year, sacrificed every autumn and reborn every spring.
Interpretation of the meaning of cards
The key to understanding this truly complex layout is cards I, X and XIV. Meditate on these cards until you understand the contradiction between the light side of Card I and the dark side of Card X, and how these opposites merge in Card XIV. Only after this can we move on to interpreting the maps of the path leading down (2-9). At the same time, keep in mind that everything that the cards say in positions 3 to 9 are things that you should refuse, regardless of whether they are prosperous or problematic cards. If, for example, the Ten of Swords appears here, then this means that you should not interrupt something yourself, you must go your way to the end, not succumbing to the temptation to stop everything at once. The Nine of Swords advises not to repent, and the Five of Cups advises not to despair and again continue on your way. Kings and Queens mean that the questioner must free himself from the influence of some persons or from dwelling on his problems, if these cards point to himself. Then analyze cards 11-14, which signify ascension, and finally try to determine what kind of sacrifice card 15 is talking about, that is, what attachments or actions the questioner must give up for some time. Moreover, this sacrifice does not have to be painful. It happens that the questioner even experiences relief, having stopped thinking about something and gaining mental peace.

layout 7 TEL

The system of esoteric knowledge contains information about the structure of the human being. It is generally accepted that a person has not only a physical body, one that can be seen with the eyes and felt with the senses. I think that today there is already indirect evidence in favor of this theory in the world. Perhaps some research is being carried out in this direction in the scientific world. Working with the Tarot, you can see the structure of a person in its entirety. After all, sometimes situations happen in life that cannot be explained scientifically; very often medicine, for example, can only throw up its hands in its powerlessness to help a person cope with this or that problem. So, below are described all seven human bodies, which are of particular importance for the tarot reader in understanding the processes of the emergence of certain life situations.

Description
1 VERTICAL 1, 1A, 1C. Dense physical body; The card in this position indicates health status.
2 VERTICAL 2,2A,2C. Etheric body; Aura. The energy released by the physical body. Personally, it seems to me that the etheric body is directly dependent on the physical, i.e. if the physical body is tired and weakened, it will release less energy. The card that will lie in the “etheric body” position will talk about how much energy a person has at the moment and what quality it is.
3 VERTICAL - 3.3A, 3C. . Astral or emotional body; This is where emotions live. Accordingly, the card in this position will indicate which emotions are dominant at this stage of the life of the person being guessed at.
4 VERTICAL - 4.4A,4C. Mental body. The card in this position will say what occupies a person’s thoughts, what he thinks about most now.
5 VERTICAL - 5.5A,5C. Causal body. The card that lies in this position is interpreted as the future. Based on my judgment, it can be interpreted as a method that can be used to best get out of the client’s situation. What kind of person he needs to become, or what qualities of his character he needs to use.
6 VERTICAL 6.6A,6C. - Buddhic (or Buddhial). This contains our life values, principles, and knowledge of our ideal self. Buddhic values can be imposed by parents, teachers and educators in the course of life. To find out what your ideal behavior is, remember who you wanted to be as a child. What qualities did you attribute to this profession? This is how you want to be. The card that lies on this position speaks about what energies and principles the client is currently using to achieve his ideal, or to fulfill his mission. Depending on the card, these values may be correct (to achieve an ideal) or incorrect.
7 VERTICAL - 7, 7A, 7C. Atmic (or Atmanic). This is a body that depends not on the person himself, his psyche or body, but on God. Or Space, whichever is more convenient for you. Here lies the Mission, the purpose of man on earth. File with text containing plans for the client from the heavenly office.
A card in this position can directly mean the ray, the client’s mission, or talk about what (alien) mission he was involved in. If the layout for the mission has already been done, then the card will most likely talk about which arcana the client’s life is currently under.
1 - THE BAGGAGE OF KARMA WITH WHICH WE CAME TO THIS WORLD
A - THE PRESENT EMBODIMENT IN WHICH WE ACT
WHERE DOES THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT LEAD US?

Blind spot

This layout serves for self-knowledge. It has psychological overtones and is reminiscent of the famous Yohari-Fenster diagram showing the four aspects of personality. The question answered by this layout is “Who am I?” or "What am I like?" You need to start with the 1st position card, then compare it with the “great unknown” position. Awareness of this position is the most valuable part of the alignment. The other two positions also have really valuable meaning - position 3 reflects how you evaluate yourself, and position 4 reflects how others perceive you. If these messages are very different from each other, or your assessment is opposite to how others see you, then this should be considered a serious warning.

Description
1. A clear description of the personality. The way you perceive yourself and how others see you.
2. Blind spot. What others see in you is either completely unknown to you, or exists only at the level of vague guesses.
3. Shadow, hidden. Aspects of your inner being that are known to you, but for certain reasons are hidden from prying eyes.
4. The great unknown.

Important to remember that Tarot cards will not be able to give an accurate and specific answer to the question posed. They will not answer “yes” or “no”. Cards help make the right decision, showing what its consequences may be, but the person himself must make the decision.

You can ask Tarot cards about:

  • what decision to make or which option is better to choose.
  • the reasons and background of any matter.
  • the current state of any situation or matter.
  • advice on how to solve a particular problem or achieve a goal.
  • prospects and development trends.
  • cards can be requested for the purpose of self-knowledge and work on oneself.

Many people are mistaken in believing that in the process of fortune telling with Tarot cards, it is necessary to focus on the question posed - this is not so. It is best to rely on your own subconscious - because it knows better what you want to know or ask. If this question really worries you a lot, then you will get an answer to it.

Shuffling and Drawing Cards

After asking a question and choosing a layout, take the deck in your hands and proceed as follows:

  1. Shuffle the deck. You don’t have to adhere to any special rules. Shuffle the cards as you are used to.
  2. Lay the cards face down on the table, in a line or in a wide fan.
  3. Pull them out left hand one at a time, as many cards as required for the selected layout, and place the drawn cards in a pile.
  4. Fold and set aside the remaining cards.
  5. Take a stack of drawn cards and, taking out one card at a time in the order in which you drew them (i.e., starting with the lowest one), place them “face up” in the position of the selected layout according to the diagram.

If you choose cards “face down” one at a time from a deck laid out like a fan, then mix as you please, because with this method the mixing process is not important.

If you are using "reversed" cards, it is better to scatter them on the floor or table and shuffle them in circles using both hands so that they can turn in one direction or the other.

If you find it difficult to determine the meaning of a card, rely on your intuition. The peculiarity of Tarot cards is that at any moment you yourself can discover a new meaning of the card.

You should not lay out cards on the same question several times in a row (except for clarifying the situation). If you didn’t like the first layout, then by laying out the cards again, you will not achieve anything - you will not improve the situation.

Important to remember that the time frame of the layouts is limited to the essence of your question. Those. if you are asking a question about what is happening directly at the moment, then this period of time may be limited to several weeks. If the issue is “long-term,” then the time frame will correspondingly become significantly larger.

It is important to know that interpretations obtained with the help of Tarot cards should be taken seriously, and it is also better to follow their advice. However, since absolute truth does not exist in our world, then, of course, the Tarot does not contain it.

It should be remembered that no alignment obliges anyone to do anything: it only shows a trend that will only come true if a person continues to act as he is now. If, taking into account the prospects opened to him thanks to the Tarot, he chooses a different path, then this tendency will naturally disappear.

A distinctive feature of Tarot cards is that they allow you to tell fortunes about absent people, provided that you have the permission of this person or a justified interest in him. This often happens when doing love fortune telling for your partner.

Important: cards must be pulled out with the left hand - it is closer to the heart. Also, modern research confirms that the left side of the human body is more sensual and intuitive.

It is also permissible for another person (whom you trust) to draw Tarot cards from the deck - this makes sense if the questioner is very excited or has too much hope for his question.

How to interpret cards?

To better master the language of images and symbols offered by Tarot cards, daily exercises are necessary. To do this, it is useful to draw a card of the day, a card of the week and a card of the month. How it's done? Every day in the morning you draw yourself one card (at first only from the 22 Major Arcana, and then from all 78), and one more at the beginning of each week and month. Then you need to see how the themes of these cards will manifest themselves in your life. So, for example, the Arcana of Death may mean that your wallet will be stolen (forced separation), and the Hanged Man - that you will not be able to find the keys to your car for a long time (slowing down the progress of things). This way you will gradually learn to understand the “everyday” language of cards better and better.

Interpretation of cards

Individual cards

You should begin to interpret cards by determining the meaning of each card in the position it occupies in the layout. You will find the meaning of the positions in the description of the layouts. The meaning of the card is in the “key words” related to it, in the column that most matches the meaning of your question. Once you have found the appropriate keywords, try modifying them so that they correspond to the meaning of the position in which the card is located.

At first, most likely, this will turn out poorly for you: one thing is written about the card, another is written about the position, and everything doesn’t fit together. But don't worry, just move on to the next card. Having examined all the cards in their positions, you will most likely be able to understand in the first layout what each card means for you in a given situation.

There are layouts in which it is better to interpret the cards not by position (first, second, etc.), but in a different order.

The big picture

Having finished analyzing the individual cards, you need to put them together into an overall picture. Try to formulate for yourself the general conclusion of the entire layout. If some cards “do not fit together,” you should not try to smooth out these discrepancies. Our lives are full of contradictions, and the same applies to cards. The layout is not embroidery, in which no knots should be visible, but advice to you in your situation. Understand this, and then the “knots” will sooner or later unravel.

Reversed cards

Many tarot readers give inverted cards, that is, those that lie upside down, a completely different meaning. There are also those who do not pay attention to this, but simply rearrange the turned over cards “correctly”. Neither one nor the other is a mistake, it’s just that each fortuneteller must decide for himself before the start of the session whether he will take into account the inverted cards or not. You will have to decide this yourself. Whichever option you like, use it. Just remember that the decision must be made every time in advance, before the session, whether you will take into account the inverted cards or not. If you do, it’s better to mix the cards by scattering them on the table or on the floor and “moving” them in circles so that they fold with their heads and feet in different directions.

2. The true, unconscious motive for moving. Here you need to look at how 1 and 2 relate to each other. If they are too far from each other, then, most likely, the desire to move has not yet been formed and is spontaneous, or there is some kind of internal conflict.

Plans for the future:

"Playing the Fool" layout

The Play of the Fool layout is a simple series of cards that allows you to consider the development of events in chronological order. In addition, it shows at what stage of this development the questioner is, what he has already overcome and what remains to be done. Thus, it is better suited than other arrangements for analyzing long-term development processes. But it is difficult to interpret because the individual positions do not have names, and the meaning of each card follows from the previous one. Another difficulty is that each map may correspond to a different period of time than its neighbor. The layout shows only the sequence of events, but not their timing. The main difficulty lies in the habitual (and completely incorrect) idea of people that their life should have some kind of logic. Playing the fool just shows that life is full of contradictions, deviations and delusions, detours and new beginnings.

The first thing you want to do after you have your Tarot cards is to make some kind of spread on them. Sometimes even without studying the meanings of the arcana. Perhaps this approach is not even bad, interest in the meaning of the lasso that you will get in the layout, in this case you will have not only theoretical, but also the most living one. Or perhaps you first studied the theory, and then just started practicing, and even went to the Internet and typed into a search engine the complex formulation “Tarot layouts for beginners with interpretation” in order to understand the depth of the meanings of the cards using the example of a more experienced fortuneteller.

If you study layouts in this way, most likely you do not have a personal mentor who would show with examples how to properly start fortune telling with Tarot cards and where it is better to start. I will look at layouts for beginners using the topic of relationships as an example.

Where to start

First, you should decide on a deck for fortune telling, you should more or less know the meanings of the cards. Secondly, you should start with simple layouts, preferably positional ones. The value of the card in this case will be refracted through the value of the position. Thirdly, for the first training with the predictive meanings of the cards, take the situation that is somehow known to you.

The simplest layout for beginners

One of the simplest layouts is the three-position layout:

  1. Past
  2. The present
  3. Future

Based on this, we select the question on which we want to train. Of course, the details of the past and even the present are not so interesting and I would like to quickly use the Tarot as a predictive tool, but in this case these positions are important for us in order to understand whether we correctly understand the meaning of the cards (events of the past for a given layout must be known, and we must compare whether they agree with the value of the dropped card) and whether we are approaching the layout in a working state (in the case of a non-working state, you will receive cards with little or no relevance to the events).

For example, we ask the following request to the cards: “Relationships with my husband in the past, present and future,” and then for each position (preliminarily determine the time period for each of them, for example, three months) we draw cards and check them for falsehood and truth.

Tarot spread for beginners on relationships

"Partnership" layout

If the most popular questions asked of Tarot cards by men are related to work and business, then for women the most frequent and most important questions are related to relationships with the opposite sex. We will now look at a more complex (than a three-card layout) example of a Tarot layout for beginners for relationships; it will include an interpretation.

The layout is called “Partnerships”, it is positional and consists of 7 cards and two significators. Significators are cards that designate partners (for our example, a man and a woman) and their current state in this relationship. They are laid out on the table first and are numbered 1 and 2, followed by all the other cards. We will see more details using the example diagram.

Layout diagram

  1. Significator of the Querent (person asking the question)
  2. Significator of Partner
  3. The situation happening between them at the moment
  4. Thoughts of the partner in relation to the Querent
  5. Partner's feelings towards the Querent
  6. Actions of the partner in relation to the Querent
  7. Actions of the Querent in relation to the Partner
  8. Querent's feelings towards the Partner
  9. Thoughts of the Querent in relation to the Partner

This layout is good because it reflects not only how a man treats the woman asking, but also reflects the nuances of her behavior, which in one way or another affect her partner. In the case, for example, of accusing a partner of a bad attitude towards her, in the querent’s opinion, it is advisable to see if her actions are the reason for his negative behavior. Well, and vice versa. Sometimes it is enough to align the behavior of one party to bring the relationship to a harmonious state. But as an example, we will take not an established couple, but someone who recently met and is just starting a relationship.

Example of a “Partnership” layout for Anna (41 years old, Sagittarius) and Andrey (38 years old, Capricorn)

  1. Anna's S – inverted

Anna in these relationships behaves outside the boundaries of her gender, probably her model of behavior is more masculine than feminine. What exactly, in what actions, words, actions this is manifested, could be clarified on additional cards, but the surrounding cards show us that this is not her only problem.

  1. S Andrey – inverted

Andrey is currently more concerned about Anna’s behavior; probably, their rapprochement did not show the woman from the best side. Or he mainly notices her negative traits. The reversed Queen of Wands suggests that Andrei sees sanctimonious qualities in Anna. And rather, the model of behavior that Anna (Inverted Empress) demonstrates cannot but reflect on him, it restrains any manifestations of his creativity in relation to her, he does not want to commit spontaneous actions for her sake.

However, despite the sad cards that we will look at next, these people currently have the energy to overcome the difficulties that arise in relationships and, judging by the cards that we will look at next, everyone sees difficulty in their partner’s behavior in these relationships. This fuse of energy will still remain for some time, and their relationship can last on it. There is energy, but as we see further, partners prefer not to spend it.

  1. Andrey's thoughts in relation to Anna. 21 lasso

He thinks about her in a peaceful way, even if her behavior does not suit him globally, but so far he does not realize this enough to think badly about Anna.

  1. Feelings for Anna.

Andrey’s feelings are asleep and have not yet manifested themselves, and perhaps they will not manifest themselves. He does not feel any love for her, to put it simply. And his attitude towards her cannot be called more than friendly sympathy (based on the World lasso).

  1. Andrey's actions towards Anna. 10 of Swords

Andrey has currently stopped any of his actions towards Anna. The most important reason is the lack of feelings for her, and this is most likely dictated by the fact that she did not behave towards him the way he would ideally like. Anna probably turned to Tarot cards because she expects activity from her partner in her direction and does not see it. And if we take into account that she herself does not express herself in any way in this partnership, but is only waiting for activity on the part of a man who has not warmed up towards her, then the situation looks quite sad.

Let's see what happens from the woman's side:

  1. Anna's actions towards Andrey.

In relation to Andrei, she uses the strategy of quietly hiding from this relationship.

  1. Feelings for Andrey. 3 of Pentacles Reversed

The growth of Anna's feelings is stopped. She would like to see more material investments from her partner in her direction in order to open up to him. This card tells us that in order to grow her feelings, she was interested in Andrey’s material resources and his investments in relationships.

  1. Anna's thoughts in relation to Andrey. Hanged Man Reversed

She realizes that the situation in the relationship is stuck. But he doesn’t want to accept it, so the Hanged Man turned over. Her thoughts are disturbing.

Addition to the relationship plan

This Tarot layout for beginners is enough to understand with its interpretation whether it is worth counting on love at the moment. But if you are interested in the development of events in the future, it is worth adding three more positions to this alignment. Each of which will symbolize the time period specified by you. Typically, for a relationship that is just beginning, this is a temporary period of three to six months. If you take a period of three months, one position will symbolize one month. If at six, then one position will symbolize a period of 2 months.

By the way, about Anna and Andrey, their relationship, based on the forecast for six months, would have ended within the next two months.

An example of a predictive Tarot layout for beginners with an interpretation of the fate of relationships for the next 6 months

  • 1st position (first 2 months) – 10 Swords (usually for this addition to “Partnerships” I use the rest of the deck, but this time I didn’t plan to make a forecast, collected cards, and then still made it, but on a full deck, so lasso is duplicated). The Ten of Swords tells us about the end of this relationship model, in the best possible way, in the form in which it was.
  • 2nd position (month 3 and 4) – Inverted. The magician here comes as a prediction that a new round in this partnership will not begin; most likely, this relationship will end in the previous two months.
  • 3rd position (month 5 and 6) – 6 of Pentacles Reversed. Lack of support and investment.

What else is important to pay attention to in this scenario?

This recommendation is suitable for both beginners and already confident practitioners. The cards in this layout are laid out in two vertical rows opposite each other. In decks a la Lenormand, sometimes they pay attention to the look and position of the character depicted on the card, to his movement. The same principle can be transferred to the Tarot deck, even if it is not classical. You can use it as an addition to complete the picture.

In our example (I used the “Universal Tarot”), the characters depicted on the lasso are static, with the exception of the man with the 7 of Swords walking towards Andrey. This suggests that the heroes do not take steps towards each other, about the lack of dynamics in the relationship. Not a single card moves or is turned to face (does not look at the partner), except for the card lying in the action position of Anna, who wants to hide from Andrei, but goes towards him, i.e. this says that she wants to hide - but this is a gesture in his direction so that he notices.

What is important to remember for both beginners and experienced practitioners

The example with Anna and Andrey was negative. Tarot, like any predictive system, never insists that if we saw a bad scenario developing ahead, these events will certainly happen.. We always have time to change our destiny, and it is important to remember this. The couple from our example should have made a list of recommendations for improving their relationship for Anna. And perhaps the bad scenario would not have happened.
